Is purpose just for the ego?

What if your purpose was to have stepped onto the road when you were 15, to delay a car so that it turned the corner 3 seconds later and avoided hitting the person who 9 years later would birth the person who 46 years later would cure cancer.

And you never knew…

I was thinking about this hypothetical situation about this the other day (the beauty of living with ADHD!). As humans, we all want purpose. But that purpose comes with two big caveats; we want to know our impact, and we want the agency to be involved.

So, does that mean all talk of purpose is about feeding the ego? Because if it wasn’t about ego, why should we care?
