Watching my daughter Zara ride her pony Jimmy… 

She gently corrects him when he’s off track, and enthusiastically encourages him when he does well. 

 There’s a saying in the equestrian world: you’re always training your horse, either for good or bad behaviour. 

 Just like meditation. It’s not about clearing your mind; it’s about noticing when you are lost in thought and coming back. 

 Like noticing when you aren’t present and coming back. 

 Like noticing when you aren’t compassionate and coming back. 

 Life is not about being perfect or even getting it right; it’s about getting better and quicker at course correction.
