Inner peace is underrated…
Recently, a good friend of mine took his own life.
He was an amazing guy; always cheerful, a mission that mattered, and a family who loved him.
I don’t know why he took his life, but all I can guess is that he didn’t have inner peace.
How much of our lives do we spend on things like our mission, achievements, accumulating possessions, etc.?
Most of it, for most of us.
And how much is developed to attaining inner peace?
Not much, for most of us.
But isn’t that what we all need?
For me, meditation has been crucial to developing inner peace, combined with gratitude.
It’s a priority because, for many years, I didn’t have any inner peace, so the contrast is stark.
I was fiercely motivated, I was an achiever, but there was always something missing.
So, I meditate daily. And I have daily triggers to go into gratitude.
Achievement and inner peace aren’t mutually exclusive.
I think we should all find what brings us inner peace and make it a priority.
