My partner, Julia, recently ran a gala and awards to raise money for the Women’s Refuge.

It was an incredible celebration of amazing women, and she raised over $30K for the charity.

She put this together after just a year in Queenstown

She reminded me that when she suggested it to me, I had thought it might be too ambitious.

I’m glad she didn’t listen.

New Zealander of the Year honoured her as a local hero and the Women’s Refuge benefitted from Julia not listening to me.

I won’t underestimate her again.
